This is an original vintage French workwear jacket from the middle of the 20th century. The jacket is made of black moleskin that has become soft and faded from years of use.
Moleskin is a heavy cotton fabric that is woven and then sheared to give the fabric a short and soft pile on one side. The fabric was commonly used in workwear garments back in the days because the fabric is noted to be a soft and durable textile. The densely woven fabric will also protect it's wearer from the cold winds.
This jacket is a vintage original and the fading of the fabric comes from years of wearing, the jacket also has some repairs and some stains that only gives it more character.
