This is a true icon when it comes to the history of functional outdoor clothes. Rocky Mountain is perhaps best known for their down vests that was first made back in the 1960's with the idea to take the traditional western style garments and combine them with the new technical materials. To make outdoor garments for a new era to be worn by lovers of the great outdoors. Made of sturdy nylon combined with the Cowboy aesthetic using a typical western shoulder yoke became a hit and could soon be seen in every other ski slope! Unfortunatly Rocky Mountain made their last garments in the mid to late eighties and did not survive the competition with the growing production in countries outside the United States.
