Tender is a one man brand based in England
and the founder William Kroll continues to make beautiful clothes inspired by the history of durable workwear with a contemporary style.

What we appreciate when it comes to the aesthetics of Tender is that the appearance may look simple at first, but William is always adding smart and interesting details to the garments, combined with interesting textiles that feel great to wear. As far as possible all products are produced in England, from the weaving of the fabrics to cutting and sewing.

The Compass Pocket Shirt has symmetrical semicircular front and back tails, with large concentric curved pockets (drawn with a compass) all the way around each front tail.

The sleeves open into faced false cuffs, and the back is seamed up to the collar. The front plackets are folded outwards to accommodate the pocket edges, showing the back of the fabric.

The shirt is cut with long straight front panels, which are folded up to form a pocket, and back at the fronts to form a cut-away, like the basted front of a bespoke waistcoat.

The Cotton Curtain Lining fabric is a light-weight smooth ecru cotton cloth woven in England for curtain linings. It is a densely constructed satin weave, designed to block out light and sound behind more decorative curtain face fab- rics, and has a lovely soft shine to it, which takes natural dyes particu- larly well.

Satin weaving is more commonly seen with silk or synthetic yarns, but when done with fine cotton yarn it makes a durable and very soft fabric.

Dyed with Turmeric (Curcuma Longa) that has been used in the Indian subcontinent for thousands of years to dye clothing and flavour foods, and in religious ceremony.Turmeric is central to Hindu and Buddhist mythology- it is the colour of the sun, and is the dye used for wedding saris and Buddhist monks’ robes. In the Ayurveda system of traditional medicine (since ~1900BCE) turmeric-infused milk is used to cure many ailments.
