Pure Blue Japan was founded in the historic city of Kurashiki in 1997 and is today considered one of the most well renowned brands when it comes to making denim in Japan. Pure Blue Japan has always been about making interesting fabrics. They use a low tension production method woven on vintage shuttle looms using only the finest cotton from Okayama. The leaf symbol embroidered on the right back pocket is a indigo leaf from the "Persicaria Tinctoria" plant, also known as the Japanese indigo plant.
These pants have a regular waist with straight legs, a perfect shape if you prefer pants that will be easy and comfortable to wear combined with a very unique indigo dyed fabric!
The fabric used in these pants is a Japanese 16 oz selvage double indigo sashiko fabric. Traditionally this kind of fabric has been used to make sturdy and durable garments such as budo clothes and the garments worn by firemen in the days before nylon and technical fabrics. The beautiful texture of the fabric is achieved by a thicker thread that has bean woven in to the fabric, adding sturdiness and texture. With time and wear the fabric will come to life in a beautiful way and the texture will come to life even more as the fabric fades.
Hemming is always included when you purchase a pair of jeans from us! Give us a comment or an email when you place your order and we will shorten them before we send them. Keep in mind that you won't be able to return the jeans if we alter the length for you.
