TCB is a Japanese brand inspired by fits and materials from the past and they strive to reproduce those iconic garments as closely as possible.
The Seamens jacket was originally worn by the US-Navy in the 40s. The jackets simplicity in design has proven to stand the test of time, and its perhaps one of the most iconic denim garments worn by the Navy during world war two. It has a rounded collar that can be raised to protect the neck when the cold wind blows. It's said that this rounded collar was used because a square shaped one could get stuck in things when worn and that it's easier to keep a round collar looking formal because you don't need to iron it as often as a regular collar.
The buttons of this jackets are decorated with the text US-Navy and an anchor symbol, just like the original ones. They are fastened to the garment with a small metal ring that allows then to be removed from the garment, a way to protect the buttons from getting damaged in the washing process and it also makes it easy to replace old rusty buttons with new ones before the rust would start eating the fabric.
