The 1942 officers glove was not a government contracted item. Similar to a few other garments used by the U.S. military they were commercially procured by the U.S.A.A.F. and issued to officers on flying status. They were also on general issue to the U.S. Paratroopsparticularly favoured by fighter pilots as their unlined design allowed greater sensitivity of the controls. Not being an actual military garment, they were not marked with any kind of military logos, only stamped with the size on the inside.

Eastman Leather has carefully reproduced these gloves to be as close to the original ones as possible. They are made from a sumptuous horsehide leather that goes in a pale yellow shade and the only tell tale sign is the makers mark and the size that are stamped on the inside of the gloves.
