Indigofera Heyes pants finds it's inspiration in clothing from the late 20th century with details such as split back and buckle back but combining the details in a contemporary way. The fit is roomy in the top with a high waist and a tapered leg.
The fabric used in these pants is a fine cotton twill. It is made by twisting a black sulfur dyed yarn and a white yarn together prior to the weaving, giving the fabric a speckled appearance. This is also the reason for this fabric to be referred to a "salt n pepper" fabric, a kind of material was popular in work wear from the 30s / 40s. Thanks to the 3x1 twill weave the fabric has the same feeling and thickness as a pair of denim pants, and we know that the fabric will age in a fantastic way when worn and washed for a while due to the fact that the black yarn is dyed in the same way as the iconic black gunpowder fabric from Indigofera.
Heyes is rather large in sizing so it can be a good idea to go for one size smaller than you usually wear in jeans.
