Since 2005 OrSlow has made clothes in Japan that are inspired by vintage garments. Rather than straight reproductions, they focus on interpreting the past through a modern lens with emphasis on quality construction, comfort and timeless style.
These pants finds their inspiration in carpenter's pants from the middle of the last century. When denim was the standard fabric used in American workwear. A high waist, wide legs and many functional pockets makes them a pair of perfect and comfortable everyday pants. The fabric is made to resemble the so called Jelt denim from the 30's. This thin but densely woven fabric is durable without being thick and uncomfortable to wear.
These pants has been washed once which brings out a bright indigo color and also makes sure that the pants won't shrink when you wash them. Due to the fact that the jeans are washed the legs will also bee slightly twisted, and the so-called leg-twist is a detail that is synonymous with vintage jeans. This is an effect that appears after the first wash if the jeans have been cut and sewn using a denim fabric that isn't sanforized, and we consider the twisted leg to be a part of authentic denim inspired by the past.
Johan is 173 cm long with a weigh of 67 kilos and wears a size EU XS / 1. Hemming is always included when you purchase a pair of jeans from us! Give us a comment during check out and we will shorten them before we send them. Keep in mind that you won't be able to return the jeans if we alter the length for you.
For hemming, we'll use a vintage Union Special chain stitch sewing machine, to match the original seam of the jeans.
