Since 2005 OrSlow has made clothes in Japan that are inspired by vintage garments. Rather than straight reproductions, they focus on interpreting the past through a modern lens with emphasis on quality construction, comfort and timeless style.
OrSlow has an interesting way of finding inspiration in traditional vintage garments and with elegance and sophistication they remake them into something that will fit todays fashion. This jacket is an example of that! It is more or less a shorter version of the so called OG-107 Tropical Field jacket that was worn by the US Army in the 60's. If you compare it to a vintage original you will notice that the collar has been removed and it has also been cropped at the waist, making it into a short jacket that looks great worn with a high waisted pair of jeans!
The slanted pockets are shaped to be easy to reach with the opposite hand, a detail that is convenient if one hand is occupied. The pockets can expand depending on what you carry in them and the cotton ripstop fabric is made in the same way as used by the US Army back in the days, with small squares in the weave made up by a thicker thread that will prevent the fabric from ripping, a detail that ensured longer wear.

All measurements are in centimeters and measured on a flat surface. Width is measured straight across the chest from armpit to armpit, length is measured at the back of the garment from the neck down and the sleeve length is measured on the underarm from the armpit to the end of the cuff.
