Sugar Cane is a Japanese brand focusing on reconstructing the early days of vintage workwear history. The brand has roots that goes back to the 1950's but it wasn't until the late 80's that Sugar Cane started building the reputation for being one of the best denim makers in Japan. It is a reputation they still deserve!

This jacket is a reproduction of the early so-called "chore jacket". The model was commonly used as workwear in the early 20th century. Unlike the later models, this one is made with fewer details and it has been scaled down to only the essentials. The square shapes of the pockets and its wide and short fit are also synonymous with American work jackets from the 20's.

Chore jacket as a garment has survived up until today due to its functional design, a great jacket with plenty of pockets!

Sugar Canes
version comes in a 11 oz blue denim fabric. They've made this fabric on a shuttle loom, using rope-dyed indigo yarn for the warp and grey yarn for the weft. This fabric will age just like a pair of jeans and become more and more beautiful the more you wear it. The coat has a roomy fit and is very suitable for casual wear. It comes with three square shaped front pockets and removable thug of war metal buttons. Inspired from a time when stainless steel was not yet used in the textile industry another plus is that it was easy to replace a broken button. But you can feel safe because these buttons will not start to rust.

Johan is 173cm tall, weighs 67 kilos and wears a size 36.
