“Everything that is not tradition is plagiarism.” - Eugenio d’Ors
It was on this principle that Pierre Fournier launched the French brand Anatomica in 1994 to recreate traditional European clothing that had either already disappeared, or was in the process of disappearing, from the wardrobe. A collaboration with Kinji Teramoto that began in 2008 sparked a new direction: the revival of American clothing made possible by Japanese production.
The concept focus on the best-fitting cloths that embrace different physiques, hence the name Anatomica.
