Hornvarefabrikken

This Danish producer of Hornwear has a history that stretches more than 200 years back in time. Knud Høj was captured during the Penisular War in 1807-1814 and while spending time as a prisoner of war he learned the art of making spoons from horn. Eventually Knud returned to Denmark and started a small production of hornware, inspiring others to learn the craft behind making horn spoons.

Today the product are still made by hand in Denmark in the factory that dates back to 1935. New inventions have made production some what easier but the work processes are the same today as they were two hundred years ago.
