Buzz Rickson's Tank Jacket 1st Model

The Japanese brand Buzz Rickson's are today counted among the few high-end reproduction manufacturers of military and casual garments in the world! They strive to make true replicas by carefully researching and analyzing original vintage garments, taking great care to duplicate the material while paying close attention to technique and quality with the goal to bring back old forgotten techniques and machines needed to make garments of outstanding quality without compromises.

The classic Tank Jacket originally named "Jacket Winter, Combat" was intended to be used by all branches of the U.S. Army but eventually it was re-designated to be used by U.S. Armored troops only and that's also when it got the nickname the Tanker Jacket.

In 2014 the jacket could be seen on the silver screen worn by Brad Pitt as the leading role in the movie Fury. That told the story about the crew of a tank during World War II.

This iconic jacket is a great example of the functional and well made garments designed during WWII and one can see that this particular jacket was the precursor to the leisure wear that became the fashionable after the war.

The shell of the jacket is made of a 100% cotton uniform twill and lined with a 26oz thick wool blanket to make sure that the jacket stays well insulated during winter. The jacket has two large front pocket and closes up with an authentic brass Conmar zipper. The cuffs and the collar is made of knitted wool.

All measurements are in centimeters and measured on a flat surface. Width is measured straight across the chest from armpit to armpit, length is measured at the back of the garment from the neck down and the sleeve length is measured on the underarm from the armpit to the end of the cuff.
