The B3 Sheepskin jacket was introduced in 1943 intended to be a protective flight jacket worn in cold zones. It's design was heavily inspired by the British Irvin flight jackets that was brought into service a few years earlier. This jacket remained in service for the next decade and through the years it went through some design changes to make it keep up with the needs.
This is a vintage original B-3 jacket from the 40's and it has been used extensively over the years. The zipper has been replaced and someone has removed the buckles at the collar and next to the jacket and it is also worn at the shoulder parts with a few small holes (see picture). Even if the jacket can be used today, it is very difficult to estimate how durable it will be. We therefore recommend that you first and foremost look at this jacket as a collectible item, rather than a jacket for everyday use.
