Whitesville is a Japanese brand known for making superior basic garments inspired by American sportswear from the middle of the last century. Whitesville is part of the Toyo Enterprise range along with Sugar Cane & Co and Buzz Rickson's to name a few.
This sweatshirt is inspired by the early history of sweatshirts when hoods were attached on regular sweatshirts. The two-tone color scheme is another time typical detail added for further vintage goodness. Whitesville have knitted these on original 4-needle 1920's vintage loopwheel machines in Japan. The facility that makes these knits is one of the last ones in the world to maintain and keep these looms in working order. 4-Needle looms are special machines that are able to knit a perfect tube, but they can only knit a set diameter. In other words, one loom for each size is required and this is why one hardly ever sees perfect tube construction in modern day garments. This special way of sewing allows to create sweatshirts without side seams, a technique that ensures that the true shape of the garment is maintained not only during its construction but also during its life of wear.
Johan is 173 cm tall, weigh 67 kilos and wears a size S.
