Duluth Pack’s have been making handcrafted packs in Minnesota since 1882.
The story began over 100 years ago with the founder Camille Poirier, a French-Canadian immigrant. After migrating west to the northern waters of Duluth, Minnesota in 1870, he built a small shoe store with his little stock of leather and tools he had at hand. As Poirier outfitted those early American settlers, he saw a need for a new type of backpack to benefit trappers, traders, and timber workers. After designing and testing, he patented the "C. Poirier Pack Sack" on December 12th, 1882. Duluth Pack, as the brand would later become known, was born.
This variant is made in an unwaxed bright orange cotton canvas material. The tough 15-ounce canvas construction is a very durable material that is up all kinds of challenges and outdoor activities. Duluth Pack's made this version of the #51 model with three leather straps just for us at Second Sunrise! We think that adds just that little extra. The shoulder straps are easy to adjust while wearing the pack.
Inside there is a zipped and easy to access compartment for your map.
