John Lofgren's Donkey Puncher Boot draws it's inspiration from a variety of traditional work boots from the first half of the 20th century, combining various elements into a pair of boots that is truly outstanding both in terms of styling and the impeccable craftsmanship on display. The name comes from the operators of steam engines called "steam donkeys" used by American loggers from the late 19th century. The operators were called "donkey punchers" and had to have durable boots that could stand up to their demanding workdays.
Made from start to finish by experienced craftsmen in Japan with no expenses spared in the sourcing of materials. John Lofgren is famous for making sure that every step of the supply chain is being made under ethical working conditions, even down to the nails and eyelets.
The uppers are made from the highest grade Horween Chromexcel leather which is famous for it's beautiful aging properties and long lasting durability. With wear the brown core of the leather starts to show through the black surface, giving the leather a characteristic look that only gets more beautiful with time.
Thanks to their generous arch support, quality construction and durable soles these boots are suitable for everyday wear no matter the occasion for many years to come. They are comfortable out of the box and will only get more comfortable with wear as the insoles conform to your feet. The boots features a removable kiltie toe cover that serves to protect the tongue of the uppers.
