Vintage French Army M-47 HBT Twill Cargo Pants

Vintage original French Army M-47 HBT Twill pants. The M-47, stands for 1947 Model. These pants are made out of a heavy HBT twill fabric. They feature cargo side pockets, two rear pockets and slash hip pockets. They have a button up fly and buttoned flaps to get a tighter fit around the ankle.
We beleive this to be and early version of the M-47 pant, judging from the quality of the fabric.

The fabric used was a 100% cotton HBT Twill with the same quality as used on its predecessors. A nice and sturdy cotton herringbone twill, a fabric that got it´s name since the texture resembles the skeleton of a herring. This weaving technique is most commonly used in wool textiles and for more dressed up suits, but during the 40's and 50's it was also used by the military.

These pants are vintage and they have a beautifully developed patina. It´s vintage state is great and these come from a devoted collector. In our opinion, these are in a very sought after vintage condition. We can´t find a size label. But please read our measurements to ensure a good fit.

All measurements are in centimeters and measured on a flat surface. The thigh measurements are taken 10 centimeters down from the crotch straight across the pant leg.
