These jeans are made in Japan by Warehouse & Co. Warehouse is known for making some of the best vintage replica garments in the world and their attention to details when it comes to material and manufacturing techniques makes it hard to tell the difference if you compare a Warehouse garment with an actual vintage piece.
In a time when jeans was becoming more and more popular in Japan the youth were looking for original vintage jeans made in USA back in the 40s 50s. They were looking to get that genuine style associated with the hay days of denim. In the 80's Levi's made decisions that came to lower the quality and durability that denim became known for and when original vintage garments became harder to find a new era for Japanese denim was born. Five brands became known as the "Osaka five" and Warehouse was one of those brands!
All these brands was influenced by one of the most iconic pair of blue jeans ever made namely the Levi's 501 from 1953. One can argue that blue jeans reached its perfection during this time and these jeans are a homage to that time. A tribute to the best jeans ever made and Warehouse has captured the look and feeling of a pair of vintage jeans combining it with a contemporary fit to make some of the best blue jeans produced today. A detail specific for the 1953 jeans is the "center loop" made just before the back center belt loop shifted to the side instead.
This pair is inspired by the jeans that were produced in 1953. Warehouse & Co claims to have used all the techniques that they have accumulated during their 25 years in business. Meaning correct style leather labels, buttons, rivets, sewing and even the setup of the sewing machine is said to have been correct. This all in a true 50's style and in many ways the start of the post war era and the acceptance to wear jeans as everyday clothing.
