Pure Blue Japan SN-019 16oz Snow Denim Relaxed Tapered Raw Indigo Jeans

Pure Blue Japan was founded in the historic city of Kurashiki in 1997 and is today considered one of the most well renowned brands when it comes to making denim in Japan. Pure Blue Japan has always been about making interesting fabrics. They use a low tension production method woven on vintage shuttle looms using only the finest cotton from Okayama. The leaf symbol embroidered on the right back pocket is a indigo leaf from the "Persicaria Tinctoria" plant, also known as the Japanese indigo plant.

XX-019 has a high waist with some space for the tights and tapers the further down the leg you come making it a slim fitting pair of jeans below the knee. It's a perfect fit if you prefer a slim silhouette but still like to wear a high waisted and comfortable pair of jeans.

These jeans are made of a Japanese 16 oz selvage fabric in a nice blue indigo shade. The fabric has a natural irregular texture due to the low tension weaving process that PBJ is known for. The name "snow" comes from the small nepps that almost looks like snow on a midnight blue sky. Living in Sweden we can really relate to this beautiful snow fabric, and it is by far one of the most interesting denim fabrics that we have ever carried. We are looking forward to see how it will age and develop when used for a while!

The looms and the spinning machines owned by PBJ are old vintage ones that takes years to learn to operate and master. This special fabric is created with extra care, since weaving with this level of unevenness is very challenging. The yarn used is unevenly spun, which adds to the lively texture, and the fabric is woven with a low tension on the warp. This process that adds a natural variation in how the texture will appear on the finished product. 

Hemming is always included when you purchase a pair of jeans from us! Give us a comment during check out and we will shorten them before we send them. Keep in mind that you won't be able to return the jeans if we alter the length for you.

All measurements are in centimeters and measured on a flat surface. The thigh measurements are taken 10 centimeters down from the crotch straight across the pant leg.
