Indigofera Copeland Shirt Canjilon Broken Twill Beige

Copeland is a shirt/jacket made by the Swedish brand Indigofera. Thanks to its simplicity, it sure is a sturdy garment with a clean look that we know is hard to grow tired of!

This version of the Copeland shirt is sewn in a beige 10,5 oz broken twill fabric, meaning that it is woven in a mixture of right hand and left hand twill. This creates a zig-zag pattern that can be seen on the back of the fabric. The fabric was invented in order to prevent the "leg twist", a phenomenon that appears when raw denim jeans are washed for the first time. When the fabric gets wet, the fibers in a raw denim twill will start to twist in the direction of the twill, resulting in a side seam that twists around the leg. Broken twill, however does not have this problem because there are no continuous twill direction in the fabric, so even if the fibers do twist, they are met by fibers that twist the other way. Shrinkage is also minimal when washing broken twill, a few percent at most.  When worn, this fabric will age in a most wonderful way just like indigo denim yet in a beige gradient.

Copeland is sparingly ornamented, making it easy to combine with other garments.

All measurements are in centimeters and measured on a flat surface. Width is measured straight across the chest from armpit to armpit, length is measured at the back of the garment from the neck down and the sleeve length is measured on the underarm from the armpit to the end of the cuff.
