Pallet Life Story finds it's inspiration in classic workwear and sportswear but rather than straight reproductions they have focused on making contemporary garments based on a playful mindset.
This jacket is best described as a reinvented classical denim jacket! The material is a heavy cotton one wash denim that is durable and will look it's best when worn for a long time, showing traces of the person who wore it.
The jacket finds it's inspiration in the old one pocket jackets dating back to the dawn of American denim workwear, first being used by the miners and the style went through small changes up until the 50's. From that decade and onwards the waist long denim jacket was re-designed, first with an additional front pocket and soon to follow a numerous of different variations of waist long denim jacket was showing up on the market. This version from Pallet Life Story is more or less a reinvented 50s jacket besides the singel front pocket the jacket also has time period details such as the pleated front (the folds that runs along the front) these gives the jacket some flexibility when worn closed.
As for the fit this jacket is made to be slimmer and longer than the 50s one pocket jackets. Today most people wear jeans with a lower rise making it hard to combine a vintage original jacket with most new jeans on the market. So one could say that the Pallet Life Story version is a contemporary version of one of the most iconic denim jackets ever made.
The leather patch on these jackets are each individual and made by splashing color onto the leather, similar to a Jackson Pollock painting. It's also a detail that makes each garment unique!
