Rockmount was founded by Jack A Weil, born in 1901 who grew up a real working cowboy. Attending rodeos, Jack saw firsthand bull riders tearing their shirts on the horns of the bull while riding. It sparked an idea. If you have a western shirt with snaps instead of buttons, when a bull’s horn gets caught in the rider’s shirt it will unsnap rather than rip through the material or worse.

His idea came to fruition in 1946, when Jack founded Rockmount Ranch Wear Manufacturing Company in Denver. Selling his signature design of Western shirts with sawtooth pockets and pearl diamond snaps, amongst other western wear. Rockmount still operates out of the same building as it was founded in to this day.

Tencel is made from cellulose, but the production takes place in a more environmentally friendly way than for the regnate fibers viscose and modal. Tencel is refined in a closed cycle where 99% of the non-toxic solvents used are recycled. The fibers are also 100% biodegradable. The fibre feels cool and breathable to wear.

We are not sure about the age of the shirt since these are still made in USA in the same traditional way. However we do know that Tencel as a trademark was founded in 1991 so it's not older than that.

The shirt is second hand and used. As you can see in the picture, the material has shrunk a bit so the pockets are a bit uneven, we suspect that this is because the previous owner has washed this in a machine and not by hand as the care instructions says. But the shirt is in very good condition despite this.

In terms of size, this is an American Medium in a relaxed fit so it suits you who usually wear large. Make sure to see the measurements for actual size.
