TCB Jeans S40's Jacket Black Denim One Wash

TCB is a Japanese brand inspired by fits and materials from the past and they strive to reproduce those iconic garments as closely as possible.

This is TCB's version of a classic so called Type 1 denim jacket. This type of jacket was first manufactured by Levi's back in the 40's. Known for it's wide and boxy fit, a buckle on the back for size adjustments and a single front pocket. This particular model is from the wartime era. It differs from its predecessor and most visible is the pocket without a pocket flap. It was a time of rationing and all details where one could save on materials were removed.

TCB makes this version out of a 14 oz cotton denim fabric, developed by TCB, the fabric is a black shrink for fit denim which is unusual to find even in Japan. It's pre washed and wont shrink. Over time, the fabric will age similar to blue jeans and show traces of the time they been worn in a most beautiful way.

This jacket has details such as the pleated front, the folds that goes along the buttoning giving the jacket which gives a little stretch if the jacket is worn snugly. It has the buckle on the lower back called a chinch back that can be used to adjust the width. The buttons used are so called Laurel Leaf buttons and its the name of a common standardized button from the middle of the last century. During the war, it was this button that had to adorn Levi's and many others' garments because the metal industry was much needed in the production of other things.

All measurements are in centimeters and measured on a flat surface. Width is measured straight across the chest from armpit to armpit, length is measured at the back of the garment from the neck down and the sleeve length is measured on the underarm from the armpit to the end of the cuff.
