Rikiya Kanamaru first found he's love for Wrangler during his teenage years. He immediately fell in love with Wranglers Western aesthetics. Initially he had no plan of collecting and creating an archive of vintage Wrangler items, but his love for Vintage in general grew with the years and this lead to him opening a shop, now in it's second location, Gold Gate can be found in the Vintage area of Harajuku, Tokyo.
Rikiya works full time as an interior designer and he has always had an eye for details. This love for details is the main reason for his love of vintage and now with almost 40 years of devoted love and collecting, he has finished his book on Wrangler. The project has taken almost 8 years to finish and in includes 200 pieces of collectable items.
The book starts at the beginning of the Wrangler brand in 1947 and the collaboration with Rodeo Ben Lichtenstein. Then it takes us through the brands 80 year rich history and it will show you items you've never seen before. Rikiya Kanamaru truly has an impressive collection and we are very happy to be able to see and study his collection and of course to be able to sell his book.
Big thank you to Long John in the Netherlands for providing information regarding Rikaya.
