Tender is a one man brand based in England and the founder William Kroll makes beautiful clothes inspired by the history of durable workwear with a contemporary style.
What we like about the aesthetics of Tender is that the appearance may look simple at first, but William is always adding smart and interesting details to the garments, combined with interesting textiles that feel great to wear. As far as possible, all products are produced in England, from the weaving of the fabrics to cutting and sewing.
Type 464 Webbing Fly Shirt
The three body panels for the Webbing Fly Shirt are assembled, with the sleeves, and then bias bound all round in one pass, starting and ending underneath the collar, which is added at the end. Instead of a standard buttoned placket, a wide strip of cotton herringbone webbing is sewn to the outside of the right front, and the inside of the left, with buttonholes sewn in place. These are also caught into the edge binding, forming a concealed button fly. Because bias binding can not be used to edge sharp corners, the front opening and sides are cut in smooth curves.
Double Indigo Cotton Tote Cloth Rinsed
Tote cloth is a simple, loosely woven midweight cotton plain cloth, usually intended to be cut into promotional tote bags. The surface of the textile crinkles and softens as it is washed and worn. This version is woven in England from a Japanese rope-dyed indigo warp and weft. It is the purest expression of the indigo yarn used for Tender’s denim, showing up its deep tones from purple to turquoise.
