Since 2005 OrSlow has made clothes in Japan that are inspired by vintage garments. Rather than straight reproductions, they focus on interpreting the past through a modern lens with emphasis on quality construction, comfort and timeless style.
This is OrSlow version of a pair of classic pants created for USMC back in the 40's and these are a favorite of ours when it comes to vintage trousers. With few but well-chosen details, a high waist and wide leg, it is a great example of timeless design that looks as good today as it does in pictures of sailors wearing these while working on deck in the middle of the last century. The best thing about these pants in our opinion is that the fit looks just as good on men and women. We're always looking for clothes that can be worn by everyone and all genders and these pants are the best we've found so far.
The fabric is a nice and sturdy cotton herringbone twill, a fabric that got it's name because the texture resembles the skeleton of a herring. This weaving technique is most commonly used in wool textiles and for more dressed up suits, but during the 40 and 50s it was also used for military and workwear garments. The cotton herringbone fabric was referred to as the "HBT twill" and the olive color in these will age beautifully when worn and washed, and look like a pair of authentic vintage pants from the 40's.
Douglas is 180 cm tall, weighs 85 kilos and wears a size EU S / JPN 2. Please note that these runs larger in size than other OrSlow pants. Douglas usually wears size 3 in OrSlow pants but these fit in a size 2.
Ebba is 158 cm tall and wears size EU XXS / 0. Hemming is always included when you purchase a pair of jeans from us! Give us a comment during check out and we will shorten them before we send them. Keep in mind that you won't be able to return the jeans if we alter the length for you.

All measurements are in centimeters and measured on a flat surface. The thigh measurements are taken 10 centimeters down from the crotch straight across the pant leg.
