Studio D'artisan was founded by Shigeharu Tagaki in Osaka Japan back in 1979. In a way one could say that Studio D'artisan was one of the pioneers of Japanese made "American Casual" products, and it was the earliest of the five Osaka brands that later became known as the Osaka Five, five brands from Osaka that put Japanese denim on the map and created the foundation of Japanese denim production!
