Studio D'artisan was founded by Shigeharu Tagaki in Osaka Japan back in 1979 and it was the earliest of the five Osaka brands that later became known as the Osaka Five, five brands from Osaka that put Japanese denim on the map and created the foundation of Japanese denim production.
These pants from Studio D'artisan are inspired by the 1940s military pants used by USMC. Also called Baker pants. They feature a beautiful herringbone twill and with a rather high rise and generous width they can be worn both with ease and timeless style.
But the most special thing about it is the Fox Cotton Fibre that the fabric is made of. Sally Fox, a biologist who has dedicated herself to developing cotton species that give naturally colored fibers.
At its heart is Fox Cotton, an organic cotton variety developed by agricultural pioneer Sally Fox, who is often called the “mother of organic cotton”. Working on her California farm since the 1980s, Fox revived naturally colored cottons that trace their lineage back over 5,000 years. Unlike conventional white cotton, which requires heavy dyeing processes, Fox Cotton grows in subtle earth-toned hues such as soft browns and greens, allowing the garments to carry the natural palette of the plant itself. With other words, this garment is completely natural and the "dye" comes from the color of the cotton it self.

Hemming is always included when you purchase a pair of jeans from us! Give us a comment during check out and we will shorten them before we send them. Keep in mind that you won't be able to return the jeans if we alter the length for you. For hemming, we'll use a vintage Union Special chain stitch sewing machine, to match the original seam of the jeans.
