Big Rock Candy Mountaineering designs outdoor clothing based on early American alpinists, mountaineers, and gear innovators who defined the outdoor style of the 1950s, 60s, and 70s. The Gator Backpack is inspired by the early climbing rucksacks of the 1970s, and like those, our pack is made to be hardwearing. It's cut from heavy-duty water-resistant canvas and has an added suede base, so the canvas won't get worn thin from the rocks. The four leather ‘pig noses’ allow you to strap down any extra gear you need in a hurry or can’t stow inside. Besides the main compartment, the pack has a smaller internal zippered pocket and laptop sleeve.
