The Japanese brand Buzz Rickson's are today counted among the few high-end reproduction manufacturers of military and casual garments in the world! They strive to make true replicas by carefully researching and analyzing original vintage garments, taking great care to duplicate the material while paying close attention to technique and quality with the goal to bring back old forgotten techniques and machines needed to make garments of outstanding quality without compromises.

This jacket, which hardly looks like a military jacket at first glance, was issued in 1935 to the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). The CCC was operated by unemployed men up to age 25 during the Great Depression, providing vocational training through camp programs. They engaged in public works such as road building, small dam construction for soil conservation, forest logging, planting, and national park maintenance. The jacket’s button-front design resembles the leather A-1 or the Army’s olive wool jackets, featuring a classic look. Due to its extremely limited production numbers, encountering an original is almost miraculous these days. Finding one with the label marked “Quartermaster Depot” is unmistakable proof of its military origin.

Width is measured straight across the chest from armpit to armpit, length is measured at the back of the garment from the neck down and the sleeve length is measured from the top of shoulder of the arm to the end of the cuff.
