The Japanese brand Buzz Rickson's are today counted among the few high-end reproduction manufacturers of military and casual garments in the world! They strive to make true replicas by carefully researching and analyzing original vintage garments, taking great care to duplicate the material while paying close attention to technique and quality. Their goal is to bring back old forgotten techniques and machines needed to make garments of outstanding quality without compromises.v
It's with great joy that we finally got these hoodies from Buzz Rickson's. After stocking their fantastic sweater for over a decade, it feels fun to introduce another outstanding basic garment of fantastic quality. Especially since we now know what this Japanese jersey from Buzz Rickson's really goes for!
Buzz Rickson's jersey are knitted on original 4-needle 1920's vintage loopwheel machines in Japan. The facility that makes these knits is one of the last ones in the world to maintain and keep these looms in working order, making the fine 13-ounce 100% cotton tubular knit used in these hoodies.
4-Needle looms are special machines that are able to knit a perfect tube, but they can only knit a set diameter. In other words one loom for each size is required and this is why one hardly ever sees perfect tube construction in modern day garments. This special way of sewing allows Buzz Rickson's to create sweatshirts without side seams, a technique that ensures that the true shape of the garment is maintained not only during its construction but also during its life of wear.
Douglas is 180 cm tall, weighs 88 kg and wears size L.
Norma is wearing a size S and measures 167 cm tall.
These sweaters do not shrink when washed but the jersey will form and stretch over time. So if it feels a little tight at first, it will fit perfectly after a period of use.
