The Japanese brand Buzz Rickson's are today counted among the few high-end reproduction manufacturers of military and casual garments in the world! They strive to make true replicas by carefully researching and analyzing original vintage garments, taking great care to duplicate the material while paying close attention to technique and quality with the goal to bring back old forgotten techniques and machines needed to make garments of outstanding quality without compromises.
This jacket is a reproduction of the two piece work uniform that was issued for the US Army in the 40's. Its predecessor was a denim pullover shirt but as the story is told it was changed due to complaints about the pullovers ripping down the front when used and that was the end of the denim pullover in the US Army. This model was the result of the updated version, it was longer and features a button up front and two lower front pockets with pocket flaps. This version of the jacket is made of a brown denim fabric that's reproduced according to the fabric used used by the US Army in 1918, just before blue denim became standard.
This jacket is made with great simplicity in it's design, intended to be easy to wear and long lasting. The 10 oz washed denim fabric looks and feels amazing and if worn, washed and loved for a few seasons this jacket will look it's best!
