Indigofera Ray Jeans Winlock Selvedge Denim

Ray is a slim fitted pair of jeans made by the Swedish brand Indigofera, and they are the perfect fit if you prefer a lower waist and a slender leg. They will suit you great if you are used to wearing skin-tight jeans and want to keep the silhouette but need a sturdy pair of trousers that will last for years of wear.

Winlock is the name of the fabric used, a Japanese 13 oz selvage fabric in a nice blue indigo shade. The fabric has a natural irregular texture due to the low tension weaving process. The dyeing is made with a green cast indigo as opposed to the more commonly used red cast. The weft has a copper tinted color, and these details gives these jeans the look and the feeling of vintage denim from the middle of the 20'th century.

The slubbyness of this fabric is achieved by two factors. One is that the yarn used is uneven which adds to the lively texture, and the other is that it is woven with a low tension warp, a process that adds a natural variation in how the texture will appear on the finished product. Further, the looms used are old vintage ones which takes years to learn to operate and master!

The weight of the fabric makes the jeans great to wear for everyday use, as they are both durable and comfortable. They will feel stiff to begin with, but give them a few weeks of wear and they will became a favourite in your wardrobe!

All measurements are in centimeters and measured on a flat surface. The thigh measurements are taken 10 centimeters down from the crotch straight across the pant leg.
