Pallet Life Story finds it's inspiration in classic workwear and sportswear but rather than straight reproductions Pallet have focused on making contemporary garments based on a playful mindset.
The fabric used in this pullover jacket features a woven sashiko pattern where thick threads are woven into the fabric to reinforce it and add durability, a necessity for this kind of fabric since it was originally intended to be used in the uniforms used while practicing martial arts. The jacket features gussets that can be unzipped at the sides to make it easier to get in and out and the neck can be tightened using the leather strap.
The beauty of this textile comes out over time, with washes and wear bringing out the true character of the fabric. Through watching the fabric age you will see the indigo fade and the fabric eventually become softer, much like how martial artists break in their uniforms as they advance through the ranks.
The leather patch on these jackets are each individual and made by splashing color onto the leather, similar to a Jackson Pollock painting. It's also a detail that makes each garment unique!
