Japan Blue Sashiko Hunting Vest

Japan blue's own line is all about the material! These beautiful pants are made from a unique indigo dyed cotton sashiko fabric woven in Japan.

This vest is inspired by traditional hunting and fishing vests from the middle of the last century, combining a traditional outdoor design with a traditional Japanese sashiko indigo dyed fabric sure makes an interesting combination and it will be interesting to see how it will look after being worn for some years. 

The fabric used in this vest is a Japanese double indigo sashiko fabric. Traditionally this kind of fabric has been used to make sturdy and durable garments such as budo clothes and clothes for Japanese firemen, back in the days before nylon and technical fabrics. The beautiful texture of the fabric is achieved by a thicker thread that has bean woven in to the fabric, adding sturdiness and texture. With time and wear the fabric will come to life in a beautiful way and the texture will come to life even more as the fabric fades.

All measurements are in centimeters and measured on a flat surface. Width is measured straight across the chest from armpit to armpit, length is measured at the back of the garment from the neck down and the sleeve length is measured on the underarm from the armpit to the end of the cuff.
