Putpet dolls are all handmade in Japan by the artist Kenzi Ohtani who strives to spreads joy by making funny dolls! All products are handmade, unique and made from recycled vintage textiles.
This is Putpet's version of a Daruma who is a hollow, round, Japanese traditional doll modeled after Bodhidharma, the founder of the Zen tradition of Buddhism. Daruma is considered a talisman of good luck in Japan and has become a very popular gift of encouragement.
This Daruma doll is all hand stitched and made compleatly by recycled fabrics with a mixture of traditional vintage Japanes indigo fabrics, bandanas, army camouflage and denim. The face is made by a yellow pice of leather and it also has a small pice of leather in the the bottom. A Daruma always rises when pushed and the same also applies to this because it is heavier at the bottom.
As these are completely handmade, no one will look exactly the same making each product from Putpet completely unique and charming.
