This is a true icon when it comes to the history of functional outdoor clothes. The Rocky Mountain Featherbed vest was originally made back in the 1960's and the idea was to take the traditional western style garments and combine them with the new technical materials to make outdoor garments for a new era to be worn by lovers of the great outdoors. The vest made of sturdy nylon filled with down combined with the Cowboy aesthetic using a typical western shoulder yoke became a hit and could soon be seen in every other ski slope! Today the vintage ones from the 60s/70s are sought after and can fetch a high price on the second hand market!
The original Rocky Mountain brand made their last garments in the mid to late eighties and we are happy that the Japanese manufacturer 35 Summers Co gave new life to the brand in 2005 and this particular vest is a collaboration between 35 Summers Co and Warehouse & Co, with the intention to make the vests just as good as when they was first made.
The body is made of nylon and and the filling is down, the hand warmer pockets are made with two compartments one of witch can be closed with velcro. The vest has one inner pocket that closes with a YKK zipper. The yoke is made of brown cattle leather and the collar on this particular vest is made of sheep skin to give some extra warmth around the neck and it sure feels cosy as well!
Johan is 173 cm long with a weight of 67 kilos and wears a size 38.
