The Japanese brand Buzz Rickson's are one of few high-end reproduction manufacturers of military and casual garments. And they sure do it good! They strive to make true replicas by carefully researching and analyzing original vintage garments, taking great care to duplicate the materials used. They pay close attention to quality with the goal to bring back old forgotten techniques and machines needed to make garments of outstanding quality without compromises.
The name CPO stands for U. S. Navy Chief Petty Officers. The wool shirt was developed for cold-weather work duty in the 1930's. The earliest version such as this reproduction featured a single breast pockets and later versions of the CPO had two. The CPO shirts is made of a cozy wool-flannel that is guaranteed to keep one warm in colder weather, it works great to wear as an over shirt in spring and early autumn and as a layering garment during the coldest months of winter. Wool also has the outstanding and unique capacity of keeping warm even when wet, which is the main reason why wool has been favored by sailors in centuries. All measurements are in centimeters and measured on a flat surface. Widthis measured straight across the chest from armpit to armpit, length is measured at the back of the garment from the neck down and the sleeve length is measured from the top of shoulder of the arm to the end of the cuff. Across Shoulders is measured straight across from shoulder point to shoulder point.
