Sugar Cane is a Japanese brand focusing on reconstructing the early days of vintage workwear history. The brand has roots that goes back to the 1950's but it wasn't until the late 80's that Sugar Cane started building the reputation for being one of the best denim makers in Japan and it is a well earned reputation they still deserve!
This is Sugar Cane's version of a 1950's/60's western snap button shirt, here in a Herringbone Twill version . Western shirts back in the day were often seen in satin with big embroideries and fringes. The real, hard working cowboys needed something more rugged and durable and fabrics like denim, flannel and chambray were used instead. The snap buttons used are decorative but actually serves a very important purpose. If stuck, in for instance a bulls horns, snap buttons opens easily compared to regular sewn on buttons. A simple detail made to avoid accidents.
Rasmus is 183 cm tall, weigh 75 kilos and wears a size M. Combining the shirt with pair of well loved Indigofera Duke Overseas Selvage, and a pair of Rooster boots from our friends at Bright Shoemakers.
