Tender is a one man brand based in USA and the founder William Kroll makes beautiful clothes inspired by the history of durable workwear with a contemporary style.
What we like about the aesthetics of Tender is that the appearance may look simple at first, but William is always adding smart and interesting details to the garments, combined with interesting textiles that feel great to wear. As far as possible, all products are produced of Brittis materials and cut and sewn close to Williams new home in USA.
Type 905 Shirtmakers Jacket is a Tender jacket seen through the eyes of a Jermyn Street shirtmaker. The shoulders are connected at a lined yoke, the two-piece collar is shaped, and there is a generous breast pocket. The selvage centre back seam is pressed open, and the upside down sleeve seams open into split cuffs. Sewn in the UK with 100% cotton thread and fastened with riveted jeans fly buttons.
Tender’s 16oz blue line selvage denim is custom woven in Japan. Ring-spun unbleached American cotton is rope dyed with 25 dips of pure indigo for an exceptionally dark blue-black fabric which fades beautifully with wear.
The yarn is heavily starched during the weaving process, so it arrives quite stiff and will soften considerably as it ages. Because it has not been pre-skewed, the yarn unwinds with washing, causing the garment to twist and shape to the body. Rinsed and dyed denim has been fully shrunk.
Douglas is 180 cm tall and wears a size 4 / L. Combining the shirt with a pair of well loved Tender 136 Oxford jeans, Tender sunglasses & Buzz Rickson's US Navy Chambray Shirt.
