Vintage 1960's Italian Military M1929 Telo Mimetico Camouflage Cloth Jacket
Here is an original Italian Army M1929 Telo Mimetico Camouflaged Parachutist Jacket, it has no labels but we estiamte it to be from the 1960s. The first decade when this color combination of the Telo Mimetico camouflage was put into service.
This pattern of jacket came into service with the Italian Army during the Cold War and saw extensive issue. Made from the post Second World War version of the M1929 camouflaged which was developed in the inter-war period, the jacket features a pop stud closure to the front and large reinforced elbows. Two patch pockets are fitted to the chest which also fasten with pop studs and the collar features period insignia. The bottom edge of the jacket features elastic meaning it will fit larger than the size stated below, if needs be.
The jacket is cut in a generous, smock-like manner to allow for plenty of free movement. It has draw strings at the waist to tighten the fit.
The jacket has a tight waist with an elastic band. We have seen that some choose to remove this which makes the jacket wider, longer and straighter in fit. But we will leave this decision to the next owner as this one is in almost mint condition.
