The N3B Parka was issued in the US Airforce in 1958 with the description "for aircrew members in extremely cold environments." The jacket is a 3/4 length parka with four pockets, outer layer of cotton/nylon twill, insulated with and lined with polyester. This garment is also known as the "Snorkel Parka", because the hood can be zipped up leaving only a small opening and the idea is that the exhaled air will heat up the inhaled air slightly as they pass each other in the tube formed by the hood.
This N-3B parka is vintage and was produced by Lancer Clothing Corporation in 1976 and has been used a lot, but it's still in fine condition for its age. It has a few stains and som small holes (see picture) but nothing unusual for its age.
