This is a pair of original vintage Levi's 501 jeans from the late 1970's. 1985 was the last year that Levi's used un-sanforized denim woven in USA for their 501's. Even if the US production was picked up again for the LVC line in 1998, the 1985 Levi's are considered collectable vintage garments. Simply because they are said to be the last batch of jeans from the Levi's main line that were actually made of high quality fabric, intended to last for a long time.
A neat detail of these jeans is the so called leg twist, due to the nature of the fabric and the fact that they were cut and sewn using raw unsanforized denim. The legs twisted when the jeans got their first wash and today this detail is synonymous with vintage jeans. Actually a lot of the Japanese denim brands do their best to replicate this detail on the jeans they produce today!
The condition of these jeans are really good considering their age. There are no scratches, holes or blemishes of any sort. Just beautiful faded denim from normal wear. There are no thin spots in the fabric, the pockets have no holes in them and they have no wear from dragging on the ground.
**They are sold as W32/L32, but due to the nature of this fabric, shrinkage have occurred. Please see our measurements to ensure a good fit.
