Vintage WW2 US Army HBT 13 Stars Buttons Combat Shirt / Jacket Size 34R

This is a vintage original WWII US Army Jacket in herringbone twill. It is made from high quality HBT Twill cotton cloth. The jacket has detailing such as two large chest pockets and the 13 stars button. The front of the jacket has an internal gas flap located behind front button closure, this detail was added to garments during World War II when chemical warfare required changes to the design. But it also prevents cold winds from blowing straight between the buttons.

This garment is ideal to wear as a spring/summer jacket but will also look great worn as a thicker overshirt for layering during the colder seasons. 

The fabric is a nice and sturdy cotton herringbone twill, a fabric that got it's name because the texture resembles the skeleton of a herring. This weaving technique is most commonly used in wool textiles and for more dressed up suits, but during the 40 and 50s it was also used for the army, as in this case.

This is a Vintage original from WW2. The condition is just considering its age and it looks almost brand new. The fabric is still stiff and the jacket has no visible damage.

All measurements are in centimeters and measured on a flat surface. Width is measured straight across the chest from armpit to armpit, length is measured at the back of the garment from the neck down and the sleeve length is measured on the underarm from the armpit to the end of the cuff.
