The rivet was originally an invention that was granted a patent to a tailor called Jacob Davis and his cloth supplier Levi Strauss. The patent states an “Improvement in Fastening Pocket-Openings" using a copper rivet.

Don held Buck Out's at a small arena near his home during this time. His group of friends and fellow cowboys had a club called "The Rodeo Club". Anyway this piece is the last from my collection of Don's stuff. He passed away in 2002."
